CMIS iPhone App – Fresh Docs for Alfresco

Now there is a new iPhone app available. Just one more to the  more than 100000 iPhone available apps.

But in this case it’s an iPhone app to access the Alfresco repository. All of the calls to Alfresco to authenticate and pull content are utilizing Alfresco’s CMIS API.

The Alfresco expert Zia Consulting develops this great app. They will create a Google Code project to make the App available as open source software. There is a placeholder site at www.freshdocs.org already in place as well as a placeholder Google Code project started. Once they determine the licensing for the app and finalize the logo development, they will open up the code.

You can get more information about the app at the developers website.

Fresh Docs Features:

  • Browse document libraries
  • Full-text search for documents
  • View most common document formats, including:
    • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Apple iWork files (Pages, Numbers, Keynote)
    • PDF
    • Plain Text
    • Image Files
    • Save “favorite” files to the phone for offline access
(when cell service and wifi are slow or unavailable)
